Local means local.

VolumeSilencer performs its controls inside your browser. It does not send your browsing activity, page content, tab titles, media details, or settings to Wiplash or any other third-party backend service.

Data collection

VolumeSilencer does not collect analytics, personal information, browsing history, or usage telemetry. The current version has no account system, backend service, advertising SDK, or remote API.

Local storage

The extension stores only preferences, saved website volume levels, visible-widget websites, and widget position in local extension storage. Temporary window-mute restoration state may use browser session storage.

Permissions

The extension uses browser permissions to save settings, find media on normal webpages, and control tab mute state. It cannot run on browser-owned or extension-store pages.

Future services

If a future optional account or synchronization service is introduced, this policy will be updated before that service is enabled. Local-only use will not silently begin transmitting data.
